Coaching Staff

Larry Johnson  |  Head Coach

Larry Johnson completed his 11th season as Penn State Brandywine women's basketball coach in 2016-17.

During his decade-long tenure, Johnson has helped the Lions reach new heights, guiding the team to the first four USCAA Tournament berths in program history and its first-ever national tournament victory during the 2009-10 season. The Lions claimed their second USCAA Tournament triumph in 2016-17 after winning the third PSUAC championship during Johnson's tenure, while also setting a single-season, program record with 22 wins.

A five-time conference coach of the year, Johnson has built Brandywine into a perennial contender in the PSUAC as his teams have claimed the conference’s South Division title nine times during his tenure and reached the league championship game six times, including PSUAC crowns in 2016-17, 2010-11 and 2006-07.

A winner of 203 games during his career, Johnson’s student-athletes have also produced in the classroom, earning 15 USCAA National Academic awards.

Johnson resides in Media, Pa., with his wife, Jessica, and Brandywine’s No. 1 fans, daughter, Makayla, and son, Larry Jr.
